Low-cost airline Wizz Air has announced this week its 43th base in Rome together with the biggest number of routes ever announced ny the airline at the same time. Wizz Air will base four Airbus A321neo aircraft at Rome Fiumicino airport in July 2021. The 32 new services to 19 countries announced this week will complement the already operated 25 routes from Rome Fiumicino and Rome Ciampino airports.
Wizz Air says it started flying to Italy in 2004, and since then has carried over 40 million passengers to and from Italy on its over 200 routes. Wizz Air is dedicated to continue developing its network and making affordable travel accessible to an ever increasing number of people. With the experience of providing low fare high quality services in the past 17 years. The establishment of Wizz Air’s newest, 43 base in Rome Fiumicino, which follows the opening of four bases (Milan Malpensa, Catania, Palermo and Bari) of the airline in Italy within just one year underpins Wizz Air’s commitment towards the country. Not only will the opening of this new base in Rome bring more economic growth to the region, but will also create over 100 new direct jobs with the airline and over 1,500 jobs in associated industries.
