The 1,200-square-meter warehouse of the Continental Tobacco Group has been inaugurated at the Pataki Road industrial estate in Sátoraljaújhely, NE Hungary, the company told MTI on Wednesday.
According to the information, the warehouse, which was built with HUF 463 million of the company's own funds, was completed as part of the tobacco company's HUF 16.5 billion investment program, which aims to expand production capacity, modernize warehousing processes and modernize energy efficiency.
The newly inaugurated facility is the first to be built outside the company's historic production site. The works lasted six months and were designed by Virtuál Architect Studio and executed by Rex Bau Ltd.
The 1,200-square-meter, two-bay hall has been completed with modern social and office blocks.
The Continental Tobacco Group brings together several tobacco companies operating in Europe, the company was founded 28 years ago in Hódmezővásárhely. It currently employs around 1,500 people and its products are available in almost 40 countries, they said.
According to publicly available company data, Continental Tobacco Plc had net sales of HUF 77.161 billion last year and HUF 63.725 billion the year before. Its net profit was HUF 9.69 billion in 2023 and HUF 8.232 billion in 2022.
