GLS Hungary has installed its 2,000th parcel machine in Budapest's MOM Park, thus covering about a quarter of the Hungarian parcel machine market; the continuous expansion of the network remains a key part of the company's strategy, the company told MTI on Thursday.
They added that the company currently operates a total of around 3,050 delivery points in more than 630 settlements, which means that every fifth Hungarian settlement has at least one GLS delivery point. As part of the network, GLS Automata also operates in more than 100 smaller settlements with a population of less than 4,000.
With a network of more than 2,000 couriers, 91 depots, a central parcel sorting plant and more than 3,000 delivery points, GLS Hungary is available throughout the country. The center, located in Alsónémedi, just south of Budapest, also serves as GLS's regional parcel control center for Eastern Europe, they said.
According to publicly available company data, the turnover of GLS General Logistics Systems Hungary Csomag-Logisztikai Ltd. was HUF 79.699 billion in 2023, compared to HUF 80.102 billion a year earlier. The company closed with a profit of HUF 19.624 billion in 2023, compared to a profit after tax of HUF 21.738 billion in 2022.
