Construction output volume, based on raw data, was above the previous year’s level by 2.6% and by 0.9% based on calendar-adjusted index in Hungary in June 2025. Among the main construction groups, the construction of buildings rose by 0.4%, that of civil engineering grew by 6.5%, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reports.
Based on seasonally and working day adjusted indices construction output lagged behind the May 2025 level by 5.3%. Construction producer prices increased by 5.7% in the 2nd quarter of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year.
In June 2025 compared to the same month of the previous year:
Output in both main groups of construction increased: the onstruction of buildings by 0.4%, that of civil engineering by 6.5%.
Among the divisions of construction, production volume increased by 11.1% in the construction of buildings, and by by 11.0% in civil engineering. Production in specialised construction activities, having the largest weight in construction, fell by 5.6%.
The volume of new contracts concluded went up by 67.8%; within it the volume of contracts for the construction of buildings increased by 7.0%, those for civil engineering works grew by 147.9%.
The volume of the end-of-June stock of contracts at construction enterprises was 17.9% higher than one year earlier, within it the volume of contracts for the construction of buildings was down by 7.2% and grew by 38.5% for civil engineering works, compared to June 2024.
In the first six months of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year:
Construction output volume did not change.
Construction producer prices:
Within the divisions of construction, prices went up in the 2nd quarter of 2025 most of all (by 6.5%) in the greatest weight carrying specialized construction activities, the price rise was 5.6% in civil engineering and 4.6% in the construction of buildings compared to the 2nd quarter of 2024.
Construction prices were 1.3% higher on average than in the 1st quarter of 2025.
