The new production facility of J-STAR MOTION, a furniture component manufacturer, was officially inaugurated in Kaposvár. In addition to setting up a manufacturing center, the Chinese company specializing in intelligent motion and control solutions has also established a new logistics hub in the seat of Somogy County.
The EUR 60 million greenfield investment, close to 15% of which is borne by Hungarian taxpayers through a government decision, is expected to create 200 new jobs in the region.
Part of the Chinese JIECANG Group, J-STAR MOTION offers intelligent motion and control solutions worldwide for smart office environments, healthcare systems, smart homes, and industrial automation. The furniture component and hydraulic system manufacturer already operates production sites in Malaysia and the United States, and following the launch of its latest investment, now also in Hungary.
The site in the county seat of Somogy will produce the group’s linear hydraulic systems, which are primarily used in furniture manufacturing and medical applications. The modern facility includes automated assembly lines, a metal processing module, and powder coating systems, while the European distribution and logistics center has also been equipped with automated warehousing solutions.
The new plant’s annual production capacity is expected to reach 650,000 units, which will primarily be shipped from Kaposvár to Germany, the Czech Republic and neighboring European markets.
