More than 30-40 million students at over 8,000 institutions worldwide use the learning management system (LMS) developed by Hungarian experts at the Budapest base of the American educational technology company Instructure, the company told MTI.
According to the announcement, the LMS system is used by Oxford, Toronto, and Ivy League universities in the United States, among others. The Canvas mobile platform and the video service called Studio are also developed entirely in Hungary. Through the latter, students can submit their assignments in video format, and teachers can create video content.
The educational technology company opened its Hungarian office six years ago, where it now employs 350 people, making it one of the company's largest global locations. It currently employs 200 Hungarian engineers and will continue to expand its workforce and capacity in the field of AI this year. Instructure Hungary also continuously employs university students, who can gain significant experience with them as career starters.
Zoltán Csapó, the company's development director in Hungary, pointed out in the announcement: Budapest was a strategic choice for Instructure, as the city's time zone is ideal for global collaboration, and their EU presence is important due to GDPR regulations. He indicated that the company's long-term goal is to remain at the forefront of educational technology trends and directions.
