This year, the 75th FIABCI Congress was held in Lagos, Nigeria, with the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence awards gala as its highlight. Hungarian developers were once again successful, winning three gold and one silver medals to finish first among European countries and third worldwide, according to a statement issued by László Gönczi, president of the Hungarian Chapter of FIABCI.
Gold medals were awarded to the W-Hotel, the City Park development and the Metrodom River residential complex. The Waterfront City residential complex won a silver medal.
The world's largest real estate professional association, FIABCI, founded in 1951 and based in Paris, operates in more than 60 countries and has tens of thousands of renowned real estate experts as members, thus forming a truly global real estate professional network and covering all sectors of the profession.
FIABCI has been organizing the FIABCI World Prix d'Excellence international competition since 1992.
The competition takes professional criteria into account as much as possible, with entries coming from almost every country on five continents.
In the 35 competitions held so far, 37 countries have won awards. The jury consists of 65-70 delegates representing 35-40 member countries. In each category, 12-15 leading real estate development professionals evaluate the participating projects.
The Hungarian Chapter of FIABCI launched the Hungarian Real Estate Development Excellence Award in 1997 with the aim of promoting the participation of Hungarian real estate developers in the FIABCI World Prix d'Excellence international real estate development competition. This goal has been achieved, as the winners of the Hungarian competition, taking advantage of their right to participate in the international competition, have been successful there almost every year.
