BOOKR Kids has announced that its digital language learning solution, BOOKR Class, has been officially added to UNICEF Learning Cabinet's selection of educational technology tools. According to the company, "this prestigious recognition confirms that BOOKR Class is not only innovative and experience-based, but also has a scientifically proven impact and is ready for widespread implementation on a global scale."
The UNICEF Learning Cabinet is a platform carefully curated by international experts to help ministries of education, policymakers, and funders implement safe, effective, and reliable digital learning solutions. The selection is based on the EdTech for Good Framework, which evaluates applicants along five key pillars:
- Safety First – child safety, data protection, responsible use
- Impact on Learning – measurable and positive learning outcomes
- Designed for Children – age-appropriate, playful, and user-friendly design
- Ready to Reach All – scalability, cost-effectiveness, adaptability to different environments
- Leave No One Behind – inclusivity, consideration of the diverse needs and backgrounds of learners
A stgatement by BOOKR Kids says that it is extremely difficult to be accepted into the Learning Cabinet: less than 5% of applicants are selected after rigorous expert review. To date, a total of 30 companies worldwide have been successful, including Google, Lingokids, and Matific. BOOKR Class not only successfully met the criteria, but also received the highest 3/3 "evidence-based" rating – this rare recognition proves that the research and methodological background behind the solution meets the most stringent international standards.
The recognition is particularly timely: the world is currently experiencing a serious learning crisis, with seven out of ten ten-year-olds in developing countries unable to understand a simple text. The Learning Cabinet, created by UNICEF, aims to address this problem by highlighting digital tools that are proven to be safe, effective, and widely applicable.
"For us, impact and results have always been the most important thing. We believe that learning can be both enjoyable and effective – and UNICEF's recognition has now confirmed that we are on the right track," Dr. Dorka Horváth, co-founder and CEO of BOOKR Kids, is quoted as saying.
BOOKR Class's inclusion in the UNICEF Learning Cabinet is not only professional recognition, but also a gateway to new opportunities: thanks to this, the program can reach even more decision-makers around the world, including children who need the most support in learning, the statement says.
