The PLMA World of Private Label International Trade Show has opened in the Dutch city of Amsterdam – an event becoming increasingly popular among retailers and manufacturers looking for new business opportunities and partners in the private label market. Twenty Hungarian food companies are presenting themselves to an international audience at the trade fair in Amsterdam, the Hungarian Agricultural Marketing Center (AMC) told MTI on Wednesday.
They highlighted that private label products already have a market share of over 40% in several European countries and exceed 30% in nine other countries. They have maintained their strong market position even during the pandemic, thanks to competitive prices and improving quality.
According to the announcement, AMC will operate a 198-square-meter community stand at the exhibition this year, with a special focus on AMC's export development business, the Hungarian Food Business Program, which, among other things, registers buyers interested in Hungarian products in the program's online system.
Most Hungarian exhibitors participate in the event every year, and once again this year, the range of products on display is very diverse: professional visitors can expand their product portfolio with smoked meat products, dry pasta, canned foods and preserves, frozen vegetables, fruits, oat bars, muesli, and biscuits, which they can recommend to supermarket chains and stores.
Last year, the event attracted 2,961 exhibitors and 18,000 trade visitors. The PLMA exhibition provides separate pavilions for food and non-food manufacturers. The product categories on display include fresh and frozen foods, dry goods and beverages, cosmetics, health and beauty products, household and kitchen equipment, car care products, and gardening supplies, according to AMC.
