The climate resilience of Hungarian agriculture needs to be strengthened, and the government supports farmers in this, Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development of the Ministry of Agriculture (AM), according to Zsolt Feldman who spoke at the opening of the 43rd AGROmashExpo international agricultural and field machinery exhibition in the Hungarian capital on Wednesday.
The State Secretary was of the view that the year 2025 will in many ways also be about generational change. Zsolt Feldman drew attention to the fact that crop output in Hungary fell by 13.3% in 2024 compared to the previous year, and after the tragically dry year of 2022, "we were also hit by the summer drought last year."
In his welcome speech, Gábor Ganczer, CEO of Hungexpo Plc, said that the exhibition would present innovative solutions to help the development of agriculture. With the exhibition, a door is opened to the agriculture of tomorrow, the products presented now will work in the fields of the future and new technologies will become part of everyday life, he added.
The 43rd AGROmashEXPO International Agricultural and Field Machinery Exhibition is open from 22-25 January 2025. Some 200 exhibitors from 15 countries showcase their products and services on 50,000 square meters at the Hungexpo Budapest Congress and Exhibition Center.
