The Finnish Santa Claus, Joulupukki is visiting Hungary again this year at the invitation of the Santa Claus Factory, attending celebrations this time in several towns in the countryside as well.
The Santa Claus Factory Foundation said in a statement to MTI that one of the tasks of the guest from the Arctic Circle this year is to raise awareness among children and parents about the importance of solidarity and charity.
Endre Zsolnai, the organizer, recalled the Finnish Santa Claus' previous words: "Let us give to the needy and the destitute at Advent. Let us act as we would like our fellow human beings to act with us."
According to Endre Zsolnai, the Finnish Santa Claus' words are a good illustration of the focus of this year's charity campaign: the Santa Claus factory would like to collect tens of thousands of kilograms of donations, which will be distributed directly to the needy by the Children's Food Foundation and the leaders and family workers of fifty selected municipalities.
In addition to the organizers, hundreds of volunteers help the Santa Claus factory every year. They hope that this year, several companies will take part in the collection and sorting as team-building events. Thanks to the event, which runs from December 1 to 21, Christmas will once again be a little easier for thousands of children.
In addition to this Friday's event, children will be able to meet Joulupuki on December 6 at the same venue, on December 3 in Sárvár, on December 4 in Bábolna, on December 6 in Szerencs and on December 7 in Szombathely.
