The number of registered jobseekers in Hungary reached a record low of 216,082 in December, falling almost 4,000 from the same month a year earlier, accordingt data by the National Employment Service (NFSZ).
Support by the European Union play an important role in helping jobseekers in Hungary. The Youth Guarantee Plus program, which supports young people under the age of 30 and inactive people, aims to help them find employment as quickly as possible, as does a similar EU-funded program for people over the age of 30, under which job seekers receive wage subsidies and housing and travel allowances. To date, more than 60,000 registered job seekers have found work through these programs, with more than HUF 73 billion in EU funding.
The "GINOP Plus-3.2.4-23 SME Capacity Expansion Support" program successfully supported the adaptation of employees to the labor market and significantly exceeded its target values. The subsidy of up to nearly HUF 2.5 million for hiring a new employee improved the labor market situation of more than 3,400 employees, which clearly indicates the social and economic benefits of the developments.
