In the spirit of faith in a sustainable future, the ProviGreen program of Provident Financial Ltd. continues. On May 10, employees of the company and their family members planted 100 trees in the Budakeszi Wildlife Park, thus actively contributing to the increase of the Hungarian forest stock, the company said in a statement.
The aim of this action in support of environmental awareness is to encourage the company's employees to set an example of commitment to sustainability not only within their workplace, but also at community level. The tree planting is part of Provident's own sustainability initiative, ProviGreen, which has seen a number of environmental activities in recent years - from litter picks to clothing collections to reducing the digital carbon footprint.
"Building the future must not only be in words, but also in deeds. Every tree planted serves the community and the environment in the long term, and this is the message of our current campaign," the CEO of Provident Financial Ltd., Viktor Boczán, pointed out.
Several well-known personalities also participated in the program. Olympic javelin thrower Réka Szilágyi warmed up the participants and then planted a tree herself. Mihály Szűcs, the managing director of the second division soccer club Soroksár FC, and coach Péter Lipcsei were also present and actively involved in the program.
The community-building character of the event was not lost either: many of the 270 participants undertook to run a charity distance for sick children this year as well, in addition to protecting the environment.
The statement adds that Provident intends to continue its environmental and social responsibility initiatives under the ProviGreen program in the future.
