More than fifty accompanying programs will add color to this year's Budapest Central European Fashion Week, which will welcome audiences across the city between February 9 and 15 with exhibitions, showroom and studio visits, pop-up events, workshops, professional discussions, and community programs in addition to the fashion shows.
The multi-day series of events aims to transform the fashion week into a city-wide cultural event based on discovery, where visitors can encounter contemporary fashion and creative industry innovations through different genres, venues, and formats, Creative Hungary, the organizer of the series, told MTI on Friday.
One of the highlights of the program will be the presentation of craftsmanship, the use of materials, and object culture, with a special focus on sustainability.
Events focusing on upcycling, zero waste workshops, and programs supporting conscious wardrobe building reflect current issues in the fashion industry, open workshops and showroom days provide an opportunity to meet designers in person, while pop-up events and limited collections focus on the customer experience, often offering discounted purchases.
During the week, fashion's connections with other fields will also be highlighted. Collaborations from the beauty industry, contemporary art, interior design and object culture, as well as lifestyle, also broaden the fashion week's program offerings.
